LaLiga president Javier Tebas has spoken about the controversy involving Cala and Diakhaby and said that “on Thursday night or Friday, there will be more news about this topic.”
Javier Tebas has come out to talk about the controversy in Cadiz last weekend. There has been talk of an audio which reveals Cala’s alleged racist insult and the LaLiga president has wanted to clear up some issues. The whole case remains under investigation.
“On Thursday night or Friday, there will be more news on the Diakhaby issue,” Tebas said, before talked about the alleged audio: “That audio, which we have studied, is from 90 seconds after the incident. The player who says that expression has a South American accent and so it is not him. We’ve worked a lot on the matter and it seems like someone says to a group of players or the referee the expression which was apparently used, but that is not from Cala.”
The LaLiga president has confirmed there will be two reports: one of them, with clean audio footage from the broadcast and another with a lipreader reading Cala’s lips when Cala runs away and says something in Diakhaby’s direction.
“We’ve ordered clean audio footage of all the recordings there could be and to see what can be heard at that moment. We have also asked for a lipreader to come in to find out what Cala says when he turns away and says something,” Tebas explained.
Lastly, Tebas highlighted that “there will be a conclusive solution.” “I think there will be a report with what Cala said. There’ll be a report with the audio footage which Diakhaby mentions. That is from a minute afterwards, it’s not from Cala and I think we can identity who says it and that it’s not from Cala. I think things will be cleared up,” he concluded.
